Welcome Ms. Pardo, our New 4th Grade Teacher

Dear Friends,

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Adriana Pardo, our new 4th grade teacher. Ms. Pardo, will be replacing Ms. Rosar for the rest of the school year.

Ms. Pardo taught in Italy and did her student teaching at Fox Road Elementary. She is a graduate of Appalachian State and her family is from Colombia. She moved to the United States when she was 9 years old.

Despite living most of her life in the United States, Ms. Pardo is still very much in touch with her Colombian culture. She also speaks fluent Spanish.

Ms. Pardo met her students today in small groups and will work with them tomorrow as a class. She joins us full-time on Monday. We are arranging a special "Meet the Teacher" event for Ms. Pardo on Thursday Nov. 19th at 5:30 pm, just before our Cultural Dance Performance.

Thanks to all our volunteers, PTA parents, middle and high school students, and our students for making our Joyner Jamboree a big success. We sold over 400 arm bands for children to participate in all the activities and our Latin Dancers were top notch. Thanks for making this such a great night!

Fall Festival Parking

I had a little trouble with my parking video, so I will leave you information in the Written form.

1. Parking is at a Premium
2. Please do not park in the Apartment Parking Lot
3. Please do not block driveways.
4. The best place to park is above the school up on Yancey Street where the new construction is going on.
5. Lock your car/Secure your valuables.
6. It is a good idea to bring a flashlight, so that you can see your way back to your car.

Rain or shine we will have a good time!!!

All the best,

Chris
